Welcome to Messagify ("we," "our," or "us"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our website and services.

Messagify is a service that transforms text messages into Spotify playlists. Our service allows users to create unique playlists based on the words in their messages.

2. Spotify Integration

Our service requires users to have a Spotify account. When you connect your Spotify account to Messagify, we request permission to:

• Access your Spotify profile information (such as your username and profile picture)
• Create playlists on your behalf
• Add songs to playlists in your account

We only use these permissions to provide our service and do not share your Spotify account information with third parties except as described in this Privacy Policy.

3. Information We Collect

3.1 Information You Provide

We collect information you provide directly to us, including:

• Spotify account information (username, profile picture)
• Messages you submit to generate playlists
• Payment information when purchasing credits (processed securely through our payment processor)

3.2 Information We Automatically Collect

When you use our service, we automatically collect certain information, including:

• Log information (IP address, browser type, pages visited, time spent)
• Device information (hardware model, operating system)
• Usage data (playlists created, features used)

3.3 Analytics

We use Simple Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service, to collect anonymous usage data about how visitors interact with our website. Simple Analytics does not use cookies, does not track users across websites, and does not collect any personal identifiable information. The data collected includes:

• Page views
• Referral sources
• Browser and device types
• Country of origin

3.4 Anonymous Visit Statistics

We also record anonymous page views on our own servers to understand how visitors move through the website (for example, how many visitors go on to register). This does not use cookies. We do not store your IP address or your browser details: together with the date, they are only used to create a one-way code that changes every day, so we cannot recognize you from one day to the next. For each visit we record the page viewed, the website that referred you and any campaign parameters in the link you used. We do not record visits from people who send a "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" signal.

In the same way, when you click "Sign in with Spotify" we count, anonymously, which of our pages you were on, and whether a new account was created afterwards. This count is not linked to you or to your account.

Both counts also keep the country you are visiting from (for example "India"), which our hosting provider works out from your IP address. We never receive or store the IP address for this, and in these anonymous counts the country is not linked to you or to your account.

When you sign in, we also store that country (a two-letter code such as "IN") in your account, only to know in which countries our users register and buy. We do not store it if your browser sends "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control". If you want it removed, contact us and we will delete it, or delete your account.

3.5 Shared Message Pages

If you create a share link for one of your playlists, anyone who has that link can see the playlist name, the message and its songs, without signing in. The page does not show your name or your Spotify account. The link is random and these pages are hidden from search engines, but we cannot control who you or the recipient forward it to. You can disable the link at any time from the playlist page, and deleting the playlist also deletes the page. Visits to these pages are counted like any other visit (section 3.4), grouped together, without the link itself.

3.6 Name Finder

When you look for a name on our "Songs with names in the title" page, we keep the name you searched, whether we found a song for it and the country you are visiting from (as in section 3.4), to complete our list of names. This record is anonymous: it does not include your IP address, your browser or your account. To prevent abuse, we limit the number of searches per visitor for one hour using the same daily one-way code described in section 3.4, which is kept only in memory and never stored. The names are searched on Spotify with our own access, not with your account. We do not record searches from people who send a "Do Not Track" or "Global Privacy Control" signal.

4. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide, maintain, and improve our services
• Process transactions and manage user accounts
• Generate playlists based on your messages
• Respond to your comments and questions
• Send you technical notices and updates
• Monitor and analyze trends and usage
• Detect and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized activity

5. Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. We will also retain and use your information as necessary to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.

We take reasonable measures to help protect your personal information from loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access. However, no security system is impenetrable, and we cannot guarantee the security of your information.
